SIX (FASHION)REASONS TO ♥ DENMARK

"By abolishing the diktats of a total look in favor of clothing adapted to each girl’s personality, Ganni creates best-loved items for the wardrobe. Not necessarily iconic classics, but true favorites that make a girl feel good about herself."

"The name Henrik Vibskov is most commonly associated not only with a fashion label, but a multitude of twisted yet tantalizing universes created in relation to each collection."

"In just a couple of seasons, Gestuz has made its mark as the new generation of girls' dearest fashion brand. The formula has been to offer a rich mix of crafted knitwear, high-quality leather pieces, super sexy dresses and cutting edge denim."

"Peter Jensen is a Danish-born, London-based mens- and womenswear designer."

"The Wackerhaus look combines a sharp tailored silhouette with lightweight materials and carefully placed ruffles.."

"Won Hundred is a brand with a collection rooted in classical mens wear and traditional formal wear and a willingness to take risks."

give me the chance today and i wouldn't have a doubt to pack my bags and move up north to my beloved denmark again tomorrow. their a-ma-zing designers just being one of the many reasons ofcourse, but not one of the least important. their designs are merely magnificent, temporary yet classic, undoubtedly dark but also feminine. sweden has a long, long list of upcoming and ongoing fashion'ers, but these six danish brands and designers should not be forgotten when scandinavia is mentioned. gorgeous, don't you think?

NEW IN

with spring on its way, sun shining onto your face and lots of water to keep hydrated, i felt like exchanging my usual red for some eyecatching pink by essie. i must remark that i normally avoid nail laqcuer brand hypes, but essie is definitely worth the attention. plus they are DBP, toluene and formaldehyde free! first is 'eternal optimist', second is 'peach daiquiri', or as i like to call them; seasick flamingo and adhd flamingo..

SUNDAY

  • 1; drying, drying, dry, dry, dry
  • 2; strawberry daiquiri gum? just one comment: !!!
  • 3; diet-sy crackers with chicken filet for breakfast, yum
  • 4; surface to air wedges
  • 5; trying to be scandinavian cute
most of my sundays start with laundry. i just love to end the week in my clean-sheeted bed and a clothingrack filled with all my precious items, even the ones that need to be washed by hand (and they are quite numerous). letting your hand feel the different shades of fabric. after completing the necessities in my home, i had a slightly a-typical breakfast and strawberry daiquiri gum to top it off. what?! yes, chewing gum with strawberry daiquiri taste. although it tastes just like the usual hubba bubba in my opinion, but shhh.. besides, i took in my usual dose of denmark-craving with this nice little video produced by h&m last year. no tears this time, promise. saturday i regained my love for the comfortableness of these surface to air 'snow' wedges (why they gave the shoes exactly this name, although no clear thinking mind would ever wear them in snow.. no idea!) and so i dedicated my rather slouchy sunday proof outfit to their explicitness. took a short trip into the city and wrapped the day up with delish homemade soup en lots of dexter season one episodes.

today i'll try to create the perfect recipe for homemade iced tea and go into the city to get some groceries, mainly fresh fruits for healthy breakfasts, as the weather is so pretty here at the moment. have a wonderful week!

BOB

"You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She's not perfect - you aren't either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break - her heart. So don't hurt her, don't change her, don't analyze and don't expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she's not there." SILK

  • 1&2; COS silk back merino dress
  • 3; TWENTY8TWELVE BY S. MILLER swai shorts in raw silk
  • 4; COMPLEX GEOMETRIES murmur dress
  • 5; CLOUD CUCKOO CLOTHING norma pants, via ETSY
  • 6; COS silk angora trousers
  • 7; IRO silk dress with eyelet detail, via ASOS
Gotta luv silk. It's glamourous and sophisticated, yet very very comfortable and wearable plus highly recommended for haute summer days. Not convinced? Try it out. Don't forget to treat your silkies with love (read: hand wash & cold water), or they will leave you. I learned that the hard way, sadly.

The handmade 'norma pants' are currently first on my want!list
